Bodo Thielmann is acting as Chief Investment Advisor to HomeToGo (Xetra: HTG), independent as CEO BT Advisors GmbH, and helps established as well as younger companies in Value Creation planning and execution, Portfolio evaluation and development, and executes Buy & Build strategies including M&A projects (from tuck-in to transformative transactions). After his studies in business administration (Erlangen-Nürnberg, Strasbourg) and a PhD (Regensburg), he started his career at Deutsche Telekom, followed by Bertelsmann Media Group. From 2006 to 2016, he was responsible for large parts of German Media Group Axel Springer´s digital expansion, a private equity-like portfolio built up and expansion where he managed numerous investments incl. board roles (e.g., Awin, Classifieds, @Leisure Group). From 2016 to 2020, he acted as CFO of a Dutch-based vacation rental group and executed successfully a Buy&Build strategy as well as the final sale to the new investor OYO. Thereafter, he developed HRS-Destination Solutions (Travel Tech Software) as a CEO and subsequently executed a transformative M&A strategy for HomeToGo (Xetra: HTG), including the acquisition of Interhome.
Bodo has 20+ years of experience and has led 50+ transactions in Corporate Finance / M&A. He has decent vertical industry experience in Media, Content, Gaming, and Software & B2B Services (25+ years), Travel & Tourism (10+ years), Classifieds (8+ years), and Online Marketing & E-Commerce (7+ years).
