Dr. Stefan Sambol is Founding Partner at OMMAX, where he advises mid- and large-cap Private Equity funds and large Family Offices on Commercial, Digital, Tech, Data, and AI-driven value creation across transactions, strategy, and portfolio acceleration. His work spans multiple industries, including Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, B2B Services, and Technology.
Stefan’s vision is to build digital leaders in each vertical and develop strong, technology-anchored equity stories driven by data and AI innovation. At OMMAX, he co-leads the Transaction Advisory team (60+ experts) covering end-to-end deal support and post-deal value creation initiatives. With over 15 years of experience, he has accelerated growth for numerous portfolio companies by designing and executing AI-enabled digital growth strategies, omnichannel customer engagement models, and data-driven operating frameworks.
Stefan is a recognized European thought leader on digital transformation, data monetization, and AI commercialization. He has authored articles for Handelsblatt, Capital, Marketing Review St. Gallen, CIO Magazine, The Times, and other publications. His insights bridge technology, AI, and private equity value creation — helping investors turn digital and AI potential into quantifiable equity value.
He advises leading financial investors, including Advent, EQT, CVC, and KKR, having led 100+ commercial, digital, tech, data, and AI due diligence and portfolio projects.
Prior to founding OMMAX, Stefan gained diverse international experience across technology, entrepreneurship, and consulting. He began his career in management consulting, focusing on strategic growth and digital innovation before joining Rocket Internet, where he helped scale several digital ventures and later co-founded multiple tech companies, driving product innovation and go-to-market acceleration.
Stefan studied at the University of Mannheim, University of São Paulo, and University of Shanghai, and holds an M.Sc. in Economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Bayreuth, with a research focus on digital transformation and data-driven business models.
