About AuthoriseMe

Enabling regulatory compliance across Europe

AuthoriseMe Group supports internationally active companies in meeting their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations. As a central point of contact, it reviews regulatory requirements, coordinates necessary registrations and reporting, and acts as the authorised representative in all 27 EU Member States where required by law.

This business runs on regulatory expertise applied at scale: tracking legal change across many countries and languages, and turning it into correct registrations, filings and documents for every client. Much of that work used to be manual. As AuthoriseMe Group grew internationally, and as new EU regulation such as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) increased volumes, the question became how to scale that work without scaling headcount at the same rate, and without compromising quality or expert judgement.

Our approach

AI as an operating capability, not a single tool

Together with OMMAX, AuthoriseMe Group has launched several LLM initiatives along its core value chain, from regulatory research to client onboarding and authority filings. Each initiative follows the same principles:

01

Experts stay in control

LLMs prepare, check, and structure; people decide where judgment or liability is involved.

02

Transparency by design

LLM results can be traced back to their sources and reviewed by experts.

03

Built to scale

Solutions are designed to grow with new countries, regulations, and volumes.

”

Those who identify regulatory change early can act faster and with greater certainty. AI does not replace regulatory expertise; it makes applying that expertise faster and more scalable. Together with OMMAX, we integrated Claude into our own Legal Watch solution, combining our experts' international experience with the speed of artificial intelligence.

What we built

Legal Watch: Transforming regulatory monitoring into a scalable AI product

A key foundation of AuthoriseMe's services is the early identification and structured assessment of regulatory changes across numerous countries, languages, and areas of law. This process had previously involved substantial manual research and review, and the need to make it more efficient and scalable grew with the business.

01

Regulatory data foundation

Built an agentic source-monitoring pipeline spanning crawling, source validation, document extraction, and classification, supported by a curated regulatory database and vector-based indexing.

02

AI-powered regulatory analysis

Implemented Claude-powered workflows to assess relevance, classify regulatory content, and identify legal bases against a closed and verified set of laws, creating structured links between regulatory developments and applicable legislation.

03

Human-in-the-loop quality assurance

Designed an expert review environment exposing matched passages, confidence signals, and reasoning traces. Four quality gates — Verification, Relevance, Draft Control, and Publication — ensure senior legal experts retain control over publication decisions.

04

Product launch & client integration

Developed the platform architecture, reporting capabilities, and distribution workflows required to turn Legal Watch into an internal tool to enhance the frequency and delivery speed of outputs to clients.

Key capabilities

Legal Watch: Building an AI platform to support regulatory monitoring

Legal Watch automates the processing and structuring of regulatory information, enabling experts to serve 3x as many clients and removing the previous capacity bottleneck. Customer-specific recommendations for action, however, deliberately remain the responsibility of our experts.

01

Agentic regulatory monitoring

Automated monitoring and validation of regulatory sources across multiple countries, languages, and source formats to reduce the manual effort required to identify relevant developments.

02

Intelligent document processing

Extracted and classified regulatory documents to create structured, searchable information for downstream analysis and expert review.

03

Legal knowledge intelligence

Built a structured regulatory knowledge layer connecting new developments with verified legal bases while maintaining provenance, update history, and traceability to primary sources.

04

Claude-assisted regulatory drafting

Leveraged Claude to generate client-ready regulatory updates based on validated source material, accelerating content creation while maintaining expert oversight and defined quality controls.

05

Expert validation & quality controls

Established four quality gates and dedicated review workflows so legal experts can validate AI-generated outputs, correct classifications, and approve content before publication.

06

Auditability & traceability

Created a comprehensive audit trail documenting what the system identified, accepted, rejected, and ultimately released, enabling transparent and controlled use of AI in a high-stakes regulatory environment.

What we built

PPWR and the power of attorney: The business problem

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requires many producers to appoint an authorized representative in the markets where they place packaging. Before AuthoriseMe can act for a client towards a national authority, it has to file a notarized power of attorney (POA) with that authority. In practice, every filing follows the same path: the client provides its data, a POA is prepared, signed, and notarized, the document is checked, and the data and document are entered into the national authority portal. The authority then reviews the filing, a process that can take several weeks, before the client can be registered.

01

A sharp rise in demand

With the PPWR in force, a large number of producers needed an authorised representative within a short period of time, and POA volumes rose well beyond what manual processing could absorb.

02

A small, specialized team

The filings were handled by a lean operations team whose capacity could not grow at the same pace.

03

More countries, more portals

AuthoriseMe is extending its authorized-representative offering to additional European markets, each with its own portal, requirements, and procedure.

04

Errors are expensive

Authorities review filings with a delay. If something is missing or inconsistent, the filing comes back, and the client's registration is postponed. Many of these issues could be spotted before submission, but only with careful manual checking of every case.

What we built

PPWR and the power of attorney: From manual portal work to checked, automated filings

01

LLM-assisted document review

An LLM-based review checks each power of attorney against AuthoriseMe's requirements before it is filed, and links every finding to the relevant passage in the document. The LLM flags; experts decide.

02

Consistency checks across data sources

Information from the document is compared with AuthoriseMe's client records, so inconsistencies surface early and are resolved by a person rather than carried into the filing.

03

Clear routing of cases

Each case is assigned a clear status. Cases that meet all requirements move on; cases with open questions go to a review queue together with the reason, so employees focus on the exceptions instead of on every case.

04

Automated portal filing with human control

Approved cases are entered into the authority portal automatically. Safeguards ensure that nothing is submitted unintentionally, every run is documented, and any question raised by the portal is handed back to a person.

05

Status tracking

The solution keeps track of the status of filings with the authority, giving the team an up-to-date view of which applications are pending, completed or need follow-up.

06

Designed for international scale

The service offers the same interface for every market, while country-specific requirements are handled in separate modules, so additional markets can be connected step by step.
