Applied AI Hackathon

Join fellow students and graduates to tackle a real-life business challenge using agentic AI. With a challenge and dataset provided by Hubert Burda Media, you’ll turn ideas into practical use cases and present your solutions to OMMAX and Burda experts.

Build AI solutions with OMMAX and Burda

Discover how AI can address real business challenges — and put your ideas to work.

At the Applied AI Hackathon, you’ll work with real use cases and datasets from Hubert Burda Media. You’ll choose one area to focus on and explore how AI could help:

  • Portfolio strategy
  • Editorial relevance
  • Consumer orientation
  • Commercial potential
  • Data availability
  • Reputational risk

Work individually or form a team on the day to develop your ideas and present them to a jury of experts.

Lutz Finger, Chief AI Officer at OMMAX, Alexandre Davin, Director Technology & Digital Transformation at Burda, and our team will share insights from their AI work, guide your thinking, and provide sparring as you shape your solution. You’ll get a closer look at how AI is applied in business and how promising ideas can become practical solutions.

What to expect?

The day will include an introduction to the challenge, mentored work, and final presentations, followed by networking over food and drinks. We’ll share the detailed schedule once it’s confirmed.

Our hackathon is for curious, ambitious students and graduates interested in AI and its practical applications. You don’t need to be an expert coder, but an interest in AI and familiarity with agentic systems will help. Bring your ideas, your perspective, and your willingness to explore.

You’ll have the chance to exchange ideas with the AI teams at OMMAX and Burda and receive hands-on guidance from them. You’ll also learn more about their work, explore potential career opportunities at OMMAX, and connect with fellow participants who share your interest in AI.

We look forward to seeing what you’ll create.
