OMMAX advised Carlyle on the agreed acquisition of BauWatch
OMMAX advised Carlyle in connection with the agreed acquisition of BauWatch, the European market leader in technology-enabled remote video surveillance solutions. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in Q1 2027.
Headquartered in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, BauWatch helps safeguard large-scale construction projects and important infrastructure, including power plants and substations and renewable-energy assets, through an integrated platform combining remote video surveillance, AI-enabled monitoring and 24/7 alarm response services. As security and resilience across key infrastructure become increasingly important priorities across Europe, organizations are accelerating the adoption of remote, technology-enabled security solutions.
OMMAX conducted a comprehensive Digital and AI Value Creation Assessment, providing Carlyle with a fact-based view of BauWatch’s digital value creation potential, technology and data foundations, and the key execution priorities for its next growth phase. The work covered:
- Digital value creation assessment: Evaluation of BauWatch’s current digital initiatives, key value-chain stages, pain points, value potential and cost baseline across process, system and data dimensions
- Initiative identification and prioritization: Development and prioritization of digital value creation initiatives based on business impact, feasibility, indicative EBITDA impact and investment requirements
- Target-state definition: Outline of the required technology and data foundations and key capability gaps to enable execution
- Roadmap and implementation planning: Development of a phased short-, mid- and long-term roadmap, including immediate next steps and an indicative business case for the prioritized initiatives
Simon Pex, Managing Director at Carlyle, said:
“BauWatch sits at the intersection of several attractive long-term trends, including the growing demand for security across construction, infrastructure and renewable energy, and Europe’s broader need for physical resilience. The company has built a market-leading technology platform and a reputation for innovation and operational excellence. We look forward to partnering with the management team to strengthen BauWatch’s leadership position and support its international expansion.”
Christian Riede, Partner Tech Strategy at OMMAX, commented:
“We are delighted to have supported Carlyle in connection with this transaction. Our digital value creation assessment highlighted BauWatch’s strong market position, scalable technology-enabled platform, and significant opportunities to further leverage digital services, data and AI. We congratulate Carlyle on the acquisition and look forward to following BauWatch’s next phase of growth.”
