From Dr. Google to Dr. AI: Pharmazeutische Zeitung covers our discussion on AI in healthcare
How is artificial intelligence changing patient behavior, and what does this mean for healthcare, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical companies?
These questions were at the heart of our discussion “From Dr Google to Dr AI: How AI Is Changing Patient Behaviour and What This Means for Healthcare and Pharmacies”, held at our Munich office ahead of the German Pharmacists’ Day and expopharm.
Moderated by Dr. Anja Konhäuser, the discussion brought together Ina Lucas, Vice President of ABDA, Lutz Boden, Managing Director OTC at Pharma Deutschland, AI security expert Arwid Zang, and Munich-based physician Markus Frühwein.
The panel highlighted three important shifts:
- Patients are increasingly turning to AI for information about medicines and treatment options, making healthcare professionals’ role as trusted interpreters more important than ever.
- AI-powered search and advisory tools are becoming new gateways to the healthcare system, influencing which information patients encounter first.
- Healthcare companies need to provide information that is not only accurate and easy to understand, but also structured so that AI systems can process it reliably.
The discussion also addressed the growing security risks associated with AI and the responsibility of companies to ensure that innovation develops in step with trust, quality and accountability.
Pharmazeutische Zeitung has now covered the discussion, highlighting how AI is becoming both a health advisor and a gatekeeper to the healthcare system.
